Department of Clinical Cancer Research

Every cancer patient wants and deserves the best cancer treatment. New possible cancer treatments are constantly being developed but it takes time before the treatments are readily available on the market. Some patients have the opportunity to access these treatments if they participate in clinical trials.  In clinical trials, the new drug is given to patients in order to assess whether the cancer responds to the treatment, and if the side effects are acceptable.

The Clinical Cancer Research Unit (CRU) is the leading center for phase I/II clinical trials in Norway. It is one of few in Scandinavia that has the expertise and resources to conduct new cancer therapy trials being tested for the first time in humans.

Our goal is to conduct high-quality research for the benefit of current and future patients.
